Jim Hume, MSP for the South of Scotland, has today lodged a Parliamentary Motion on Scotland’s chance to improve energy efficiency in the home by using micro generation technology.

Speaking from Parliament Jim Hume said:-

“We have a great and real opportunity to put Scotland at the forefront of micro power generation.

“My party and I believe that through building regulations, every new building both in the private and public sector should have on site micro power facilities.

The MSP continued:-

“It is vital that we take steps to utilise a variety of renewable energy technologies now and one small micro power device in every household would generate 17% of our energy needs as well as cut down on fuel bills.

“I am calling for the introduction of a new energy efficiency and microgeneration strategy containing challenging targets which will create more use of this technology together with improved energy efficiency.”
